The latest installment of the Great Midwest Trivia Contest is only a short fourteen days away, and team preparations are well underway. Just as we said we would, Too Much Trivia in the Pants is returning for our tenth consecutive year in the contest.

As we gear up for Trivia XLII, today we launch the latest version of our Web site. I have here a couple of notes about the new site. First, I am fully aware that it displays strangely in IE. I have done what I can to fix the bugs, and I will continue to work on fixing more of them, but that’s the best I can do. Frankly, it’s nothing personal, but if you still use Internet Explorer as your browser of choice, then you, my friend, are an idiot anyway. C’mon people, it’s 2007 — make the change to Firefox or some other non-IE browser already. Second, yes, I have discovered some small problems with the way the page displays even in Firefox, but unlike the Internet Explorer problems, I am actually committed to finding and fixing the display problems in Firefox. If you use Firefox and discover something out of the ordinary, feel free to let me know. And finally, I don’t use browsers like Safari or Opera, so I have no idea if the new Web site functions in those browsers or not. If you use those browsers and the site seems to be displaying strangely in them, feel free to let me know and I’ll experiment to see if it’s something I can easily fix.

For those members of our team whose current e-mail addresses I do not have, please e-mail or call me so I can update or add you to the list. The 2007 edition of the pre-trivia e-mail will be sent out next week, and I would like to get it sent to as many team members as possible.

For those members of other teams, best of luck this year, and please remember that the point of participating in the contest is to have fun. Lighten up, have a laugh, and enjoy it.
